Seasonal weather can affect the function of your doors and windows

Enjoying the lovely summer weather but find your doors are sticking and won't close properly? This is a common problem often caused by the hot weather. If your door has dropped this can also be due to worn hinges. Damp conditions can also affect doors.

UPVC/Composite doors and UPVC windows can be affected by the warm weather. The door handle may become more difficult to lift or turn. The darker the colour of the UPVC and Composite doors and UPVC windows the more they will absorb the heat which can cause movement and swelling.

Other issues you might face is door misalignment or issues with the hinges.

If you experience any of these issues call your local Locksmith who may be able to make some simple adjustments to prevent further damage to your locking system. If left and the door is shut using brut force and heavy handed measures this may cause more damage resulting in a more expensive resolution.
